Thank you for entering the HEARTHSTONE BUILDER Lifetime Public Service Award.  Sponsored by BUILDER and Hearthstone, with generous support from Kohler Company, the award honors builders who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to public service.

ELIGIBILITY
Nominees must be for-profit, single-family builders or lot developers.  They may be individuals or companies, employees or owners. Builders may nominate themselves or be nominated by other builders, charities, non-profit organizations, or government organizations they have helped. Special recognition will be given this year to employees of building firms, in addition to owners.

THE AWARDS

Up to $400,000 cash will be donated to the winning builders' not-for-profit charity or community service organization. These awards will be made through a donor advised fund established in the winner's name at the Homebuilding Community Foundation. Any private foundation, including one controlled by the winner, is ineligible to receive any portion of the award. At the Award Gala, the winner and a guest will be seated at a head table with the one of the premiere sponsors of the event. Winners will receive a limited number of tickets for additional guests. Seating for those additional guests of the winners will be at a near by table.

SELECTION
A panel of judges will select the builders or companies that have made the most significant contribution over their lifetime to public service.  The charities or community service organizations do not need to be connected to housing or housing programs; however, preference will be given to builders who use their talents to provide housing for the underpriviledged or otherwise enhance the quality of life in their communities (see page 3 for additional information).  The judges’ selection of the award winner will be final.
